About
Daniela Dobrota
Daniela or (Danijela) Dobrota is the Principal Lawyer and Founder of Apollaw Immigration. Immigration and Refugee Law are deeply intertwined with who she is.
Having been a refugee, a temporary foreign worker, an international student and an immigrant, she understands what her clients are going through and the unique hurdles that come with temporary and permanent relocation. She is passionate about providing effective and well-rounded client service. Her clients are her biggest motivation.
Before starting her own practice, Danijela worked at two immigration and refugee law firms in Hamilton. She also worked in the business immigration department of a national law firm in Montréal, Québec.
While pursuing her law degree at McGill, Daniela was working part-time as Human Resource Coordinator at a Canadian-Indian telecommunications company based in Montréal.
Back in her native Europe, she launched her career with a defence team at the United Nations International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Netherlands.
Danijela is a proud citizen of Canada, Serbia and Croatia.
